Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent a letter of condolences to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev due to the numerous casualties of a plane crash in Almaty.

The Head of the state expressed sincere sympathy and support to the families and friends of the tragedy’s victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to all the injured.

A passenger plane carrying almost 100 people crashed seconds after takeoff in Kazakhstan on Friday, killing at least 12 people and injuring dozens more.

Flight Z9-2100, a Fokker 100 aircraft operated by Kazakhstan-based carrier Bek Air, was scheduled to fly from Almaty to Nur-Sultan.
