"Round table" with candidates for the legislative chamber of the Oliy Majlis takes place
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 12 December 2019, at the International Press Center of the Central Election Commission, a meeting was held with candidates running for seats in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
The event, organized in the format of the meeting, was attended by the UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan - Helena Fraser, US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan - Daniel Rosenblum, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan - Kang Jae Kwon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Uzbekistan - Timothy Torlot, candidates from five political parties: Rasul Kusherbayev - candidate from the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Oydin Abdullaeva - candidate Atat from the Social Democratic Party Adolat, Nodir Tilavoldiev is a candidate from the Democratic Party Milliy Tiklanish, Zukhra Shadieva is a candidate from the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Firuza Ganieva is a candidate from the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, as well as media representatives.
The agenda included familiarization of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors of the above countries with candidates from political parties running for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. Changes in the electoral law and their practical application in the upcoming elections on December 22 were also considered.
It should be noted that during the meeting the importance of new views of candidates on the activities of the Parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan was emphasized. At the meeting, candidates from political parties running for the Legislative Chamber familiarized the guests with their views and election programs.
