Japanese delegation led by mayor of Nagoya visits Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 12 December, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adham Ikramov, along with a delegation led by Mayor of Nagoya Takashi Kawamura, visited the Japanese Garden, which is one of the symbols of friendship between Japan and Uzbekistan.
In addition, members of the Nagoya delegation also visited the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where they met with Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adham Ikramov, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov, Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekistan Havo Yullari Bakhtiyor Khakimov and Chairman of Uzbekistan Airports ”Ravshan Ismoilov.
During the meeting, issues of strengthening friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Japan were discussed, as well as issues of developing bilateral cooperation.
Also, a meeting was held in the khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent, in which the Khokim of the capital, J. Artykhodjaev, spoke about large-scale reforms being carried out in our country, as well as changes and innovations in the capital of Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that the number of Japanese tourists visiting Uzbekistan is growing and the indicator of tourist visits in 2019 increased by 47% compared to 2018.
He noted that the event “Tashkent Meets Nagoya”, held as part of the visit, will be a strong confirmation of long-term and promising cooperation.
The mayor of Nagoya, Takashi Kawamura expressed his gratitude for the friendly attitude and hospitality and said that the city of Nagoya is the most developed industrial territory of Japan and is famous in the world as a city of dreams. He noted that in the continuation of cultural and humanitarian cooperation with Tashkent, joint projects will be implemented in the economic, tourism, educational spheres, as well as in the health sector. And he proposed at the first stage of cooperation to establish an exchange of school teachers.
As part of the meeting, an agreement was signed on establishing partnerships between the Department of Tourism Development of the city of Tashkent and the Department for the Promotion of Tourism and Culture of the city of Nagoya. This document will serve to strengthen long-term and twinning relations between cities, joint implementation of tourism projects and the potential of the two cities to enter a new stage of development.
