Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A meeting was held with the business community of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, headed by Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce of Afghanistan Mail Aga Khair Hwa and chairman of the IRA Trade and Investment Chamber Tawakul Shah Ahmad Yar, in the Central Office of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari. The guests first of all expressed satisfaction with the conditions created by the government of Uzbekistan not only for the social and humanitarian sphere, but also for the trade and economic development of Afghanistan. The issues of further deepening cooperation between our countries in the transport and logistics sphere were discussed. In particular, the guests expressed interest in increasing the volume of transit cargo through Uzbekistan through the Hairaton station, thereby contributing to the development of the northern region of Afghanistan. At the same time, it was noted that the business community of the neighboring state is ready to develop, to a greater extent, the transportation of oil and oil products.
The parties also noted the potential of the Hairaton logistics center and the Termiz kargo export center, which is capable of simultaneously accepting up to 300 trucks, and also has access railway tracks and warehouses for storing containers.
By the way, Uzbekistan Temir Yollari takes an active part and fully cooperates in increasing the volume of goods transported by rail between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, in particular, significant discounts are provided for the transportation of Afghan export goods in transit through the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Representatives of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari expressed their willingness to consider specific proposals for interaction and comprehensive support.
Meanwhile, the result of cooperation and a good example of a successful partnership was the next shipment of goods by rail from Afghanistan in transit through Uzbekistan.
Today, on 6 December 2019, a freight train departed from the Hairaton station (Afghanistan), which included 2 wagons loaded with 100 tons of tangerines. Destination is the city of Chimkent (Kazakhstan).
In total, in 2019 until today, 252 tons of raisins were shipped from Afghanistan to Russia, 130 tons of talk to Kazakhstan and 1066 tons of talc to China. About 1,628 tons of national economy goods were transported. More than 20 container trains were transported to Afghanistan. In addition, in September of this year, the first container train was sent from Afghanistan to China. The next container train is being prepared for shipment.
