Uzbek students in Russia are ready to vote in elections

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia talked about the election campaign in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local Kengashes during a meeting with our compatriots studying at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Moscow Automobile and Road State Technical University.
During the events, diplomats presented a detailed overview of the amendments and additions made in recent years to the electoral legislation of Uzbekistan, the modern electoral system of the republic, and measures taken to strengthen the position of public and youth organizations. They talked about the course of the election campaign and the political parties registered by the CEC.
It was especially noted that the parliamentary elections will be held for the first time according to the new Electoral Code and more than 20 million voters are expected to participate, among which 2 million are young people participating in voting for the first time.
In turn, the students expressed gratitude to the leadership of the republic for creating favorable conditions for the realization by citizens living abroad of their voting rights. High appreciation was given to innovations, according to which, in the upcoming elections, students and citizens who did not take part in consular registration will be included in the list of voters abroad.
Diplomats have explained in detail the procedure for including citizens in Moscow in the voter list for voting at polling station No. 31, which will be organized on the territory of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the capital of Russia. Students are also presented with information on the special portal saylov.mfa.uz, through which citizens can register for voting.
