Uzbek Presidents sets extra holidays in 2020
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the establishment of additional non-working days during the celebration of official dates and the postponement of holidays in 2020” was signed on 14 November 2019.
In order to create conditions for a good rest of citizens during the celebration of official dates and ensure the rational use of weekends and holidays in 2020, the head of Uzbekistan set Monday 23 March in 2020 as a day off.
The president rescheduled the following holidays in 2020:
from Saturday, 4 January to Thursday, 2 January;
from Saturday, 29 August to Monday, 31 August.
Thursday, 2 January 2020, and Monday, 31 August 2020 are non-working days for all employees, regardless of the type of working week, in budgetary organizations the additional non-working day is compensated by reducing the length of the annual labor leave of employees by one working day.
In budgetary organizations, the additional non-working day is compensated by reducing the duration of the annual labor leave of employees by one working day. When determining the amount of average monthly earnings maintained during the period of annual labor leave, the actual duration of the labor leave shall be taken into account with the addition of an additional non-working day. The duration of annual labor leave, subject to reduction, may not be less than 15 working days.
In non-budgetary organizations, an additional non-working day, along with other additional days for labor leave, is established on the basis of financial capabilities and in accordance with collective agreements or other local acts adopted by employers in consultation with trade union committees.
The Uzbekiston Havo Yollari and Uzbekistan Temir Yollari have been instructed to develop discounts and promotions for transport and hotel services during the long weekend, the State Committee for Tourism and local authorities - to work out internal tourism routes and programs for active and wholesome recreation, to intensify the work of trade union organizations in providing active recreation for employees and their families on extended holidays.
