Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A joint meeting of the Coordinating Council of Law Enforcement Agencies of the Republic and the Senate Commission of the Oliy Majlis on monitoring the activities of prosecution authorities was held at the General Prosecutor’s Office.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service, the State Customs Service, the National Guard and the Supreme Court, as well as the chairman and members of the commission for monitoring the activities of the prosecutor’s bodies of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
During the event, they discussed the pre-investigation verification of information about corruption crimes, the investigation and judicial practice in this category of criminal cases, the recovery of material damage and the state of prosecutor’s supervision in this area.
It was noted that law enforcement agencies carried out certain work to protect the interests of citizens, the state and society by considering and resolving allegations and reports of corruption crimes.
Along with this, the criticism was made of the deficiencies in ensuring compliance with the requirements of the criminal procedure legislation when resolving statements and communications of this category, in particular, the lack of measures to ensure the quality of the investigation.
Particular attention was paid to the causes and conditions for the occurrence of such negative phenomena, and it was noted that strict measures should be taken to prevent them.
In addition, the meeting examined the reliability of reports in the field of criminal law statistics conducted by the bodies conducting the pre-trial investigation, inquiry and preliminary investigation, as well as the state of prosecutorial supervision.
During the discussion, the incomplete observance of the Instruction “On the procedure for recording crimes, persons who committed them, the procedural decisions of the bodies conducting the preliminary investigation, inquiry and preliminary investigation, as well as the courts” and the Regulation “On the procedure for maintaining the Unified Information System“ Electronic Criminal Law ”was criticized. statistics ”, as well as systematically studying activities in the field of criminal statistics, specific requirements are established for taking control of this area.
At the meeting, information was heard from regional prosecutors and equivalent prosecutors, heads of internal affairs bodies and other bodies responsible for this area.
Following the meeting, decisions were made to eliminate existing shortcomings and increase the effectiveness of activities in the areas under discussion.
