Uzmetkombinat implements a program for landscaping of Bekabad
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzmetkombinat has launched a greening program for one of the country’s largest industrial cities, Bekabad. Over the past month alone, about 100 seedlings of trees and over 30,000 flowers were planted in the city and at the plant, the press service of the enterprise said.
In recent years, the territory of Bekabad has become more and more comfortable, the number of parks and green spaces is growing. However, the city was not always like that. According to veterans of the plant, before it was part of the steppe, where almost nothing grew. Over time, they began to import fertile land and plant trees, shrubs and flowers.
“Every year, tree planting campaigns are held in the city. Employees of Uzmetkombinat plant fruit and ornamental plants, as well as flowers. A special cosiness and microclimate are created by flower beds and fountains, broken near the buildings, living corners with numerous birds. In the territories adjacent to the production sites gabions of various shapes and sizes were installed, models of famous architectural sights of the world were erected. Among them are the Eiffel Tower, the Tashkent TV tower, the Egyptian pyramids and others,” the Uzmetkombinat said.
In addition, the management of the enterprise pays special attention to the landscaping and improvement of its territory. Over the past months alone, work has been done on painting the facades of buildings and fences, 4,500 tonnes of garbage have been removed, 320 trees have been whitewashed and trimmed, lighting has been restored, and 4 kilometers of irrigation and drainage systems repaired. In addition, workers planted 500 square meters of lawn.
