Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - From January to August 2019, the Uzbek Metallurgical Combine (Uzmetkombinat) increased exports to 275,600 tonnes. This is 12.2% more than in the same period of last year, the press service of the enterprise said.
The lion’s share of all exports is ferrous metal. The rest is enameled dishes.
“Today, products are exported to eight countries. Afghanistan and Kazakhstan buy metal, Kyrgyzstan and Russia - products from copper and its alloys, Tajikistan - enameled dishes, metal, heat-insulating materials, Belarus - rolled from copper and its alloys, Ukraine - metal, Turkmenistan - construction nails,” the head of the department marketing of Uzmetkombinat Erkin Ibragimov said.
According to him, now the plant is actively exploring new foreign directions. For example, it is planned to expand the geography of exports through supplies to Azerbaijan. Uzmetkombinat will begin exporting products from copper and its alloys to this country.
“In general, by the end of the year, the plant intends to export products for 350,000 tonnes. At the same time, the actual export may be even greater, since the demand for domestic products especially in the CIS countries is growing, the conditions of transportation and logistics are improving,” the source said.
