Independence Day of Uzbekistan celebrated in Austrian capital

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 17 September 2019, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Austria, with the participation of the Ministry of Energy and the State Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan, organized a gala reception on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of Independence.
The guests of the evening were representatives of government, public, business circles, and the media. Among them are former Chancellor Dr. Alfred Gusenbauer, First Vice President of the Federal Economic Chamber Richard Schenz, Director General of the Ministry of Economics and Digitalization, Co-Chairman of the Austrian part of the bilateral IPC Franz Wessig, as well as heads of Raiffeisenbank, Control Bank, a number of large investment and industrial companies, diplomats, figures of science and culture of Austria, Hungary and Slovakia.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Minister of Energy Alisher Sultanov, Director of the Department of Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria Katarina Wieser addressed greetings to those present. During their speeches, a fundamentally new dynamics in the development of relations between our countries, which has been established in recent years, was emphasized. In particular, in such relevant areas as politics, economics, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
As Katharina Wieser emphasized, the Austrian government notes with satisfaction the positive development in all areas of the bilateral dialogue. In addition, one can observe an increase in the interest of Austrian companies in doing business in Uzbekistan, caused by the course of reforms carried out over the past three years in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This markedly increased the country's attractiveness for Austrian companies.
All invited guests in their congratulations noted the successes of Uzbekistan achieved over the years of independence, and expressed their warmest wishes to the people and leadership of the country.
In order to familiarize those present with the rich musical culture and traditions of the Uzbek people, the event featured a colorful concert program performed by the Sogdiana chamber orchestra of national instruments.
