Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A reception was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of State Independence of Uzbekistan.
In the Embassy, members of the Russian parliament and government, representatives of scientific and academic circles, cultural and art figures, experts and analysts, foreign ambassadors accredited in Moscow, journalists, Uzbek consuls general in cities of Russia, compatriots from all over the Russian Federation gathered to celebrate a significant event.
The solemn event began with the performance of the national anthems of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.
Welcoming the guests, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation Botirjon Asadov noted that Uzbekistan, thanks to independence, which is an invaluable asset of our people and has opened a new bright page in the history of the country, has taken a worthy place in the world community and is confidently moving along the path from national revival to national progress.
“Today our country is at a completely new stage in its development,” the Ambassador said. - Thanks to systemic reforms launched at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, fundamental changes are taking place in almost all spheres of life of the state and society. Over the historically short period, significant results have been achieved in improving the public administration system, setting up the work of state bodies according to completely new standards, modernizing and liberalizing the economy, creating a favorable and attractive investment climate, strengthening civil society institutions, and ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of citizens,” he said.
According to the diplomat, the policy of openness pursued by official Tashkent and active diplomacy contribute to further improving the country’s international image and authority on the world stage, expanding the geography and scale of interstate relations, and increasing the flow of tourists and investments in the republic.
In this context, a high assessment of the current state of Uzbek-Russian relations, which in recent years, thanks to personal friendly ties and an active confidential dialogue between the Presidents of our countries, “are experiencing an unprecedented, exceptional in scale and scope, rise”.
“Now relations between Uzbekistan and Russia are one of the positive examples of how interaction between countries in the modern world should be built,” Asadov said.
In turn, the main guest from the Russian side - Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Ilyas Umakhanov stressed that the Presidents of our countries have identified a very high level of interaction. At present, Uzbek-Russian relations are developing dynamically in all directions of mutual interest. The Russian politician emphasized the activation of parliamentary relations in recent years. The upper chambers of the two parliaments interact within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Commission. So, in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, an Inter-Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation has been formed.
The concert program, prepared by creative groups specially invited from Tashkent, gave a special atmosphere to the event. The guests of the evening greeted our artists with a standing ovation. The works “Uzbekiston”, “Bayram Taronashi”, “Maftun Buldim”, “Omon Yor”, “Mustazozod”, other songs and dances left the participants of the festive evening unforgettable impressions. The colorful component of the reception was an exhibition of samples of applied art, organized jointly with the diasporal organizations of the city of Moscow. The participants got acquainted with the national fabrics made by skilled craftsmen atlas and adras, ceramics, colorful art and souvenirs. In addition, in cooperation with the Uzbek company UzGardens, an exposition of agricultural products of the republic was organized. Fruits and vegetables, lovingly grown on sunny Uzbek soil, caused a real sensation among the guests with their unique taste.
Handouts and presentation materials were distributed among visitors, telling about the trade, economic and investment potential of our country, its opportunities in the field of tourism.
It should be noted that on the eve of the 28th anniversary of the state independence of our country, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia together with the official press organ of the Government of the Russian Federation “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan implemented a large-scale project by publishing a special magazine “Uzbekistan - Russia: Strategic Partnership, aiming for the future."
The aim of the project is to familiarize the wide Russian public with the modern progress of Uzbekistan, the large-scale reforms being carried out in the country, the republic’s capabilities in various fields, the current state and prospects for further development of Uzbek-Russian cooperation. The opinions and assessments of the heads of ministries, departments and state companies of the two countries on various aspects of the modern development of Uzbekistan and Uzbek-Russian relations are published on the pages of the magazine.
In addition, before the gala reception, Rossiiskaya Gazeta published a detailed interview with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia Botirjon Asadov, which analyzes the current state of bilateral relations and the prospects for their further development.
