Local issues of increasing women’s economic activity
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the khokimiyat of Surkhandarya region, the Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms held a regional seminar on the adoption of measures to increase the proportion of women working in the business sector and their wide involvement in the management process, and promoting the employment of women through the development of family business. This was reported by the Information Service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
The seminar was attended by members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, representatives of the Tadbirkor Ayol Association, the Women’s Committee, as well as media workers.
The seminar focused on providing more opportunities for small business and entrepreneurship, expanding the ranks of businessmen.
It was noted that as a result of the work to promote the employment of women in the region, more than 29,000 jobs were created, which are mainly for women in need of social support.
In addition, the Women’s Committee, together with the regional employment department, has adopted a separate program to promote the employment of women in the area who want to work. This year, the working group provided employment to 491 out of 699 women belonging to the category of people in need of social support.
Commercial banks also allocated 80 billion 308 million soums of loan funds to 891 women to support their entrepreneurial activities.
Along with this, the seminar emphasized the importance of campaigning, seminars, and training sessions in order to promote the possibilities of using soft loans.
During the event, issues of increasing the economic and socio-political activity of women, the wide dissemination of best practices in the fields of production, agriculture and the provision of services were discussed in detail. They also talked about regulations, innovations, latest technologies, foreign experience in the field of entrepreneurship.
