Uzbekistan, South Korea discuss development of economic ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 August, a meeting with the Korean delegation was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan (CCI).
In the first half of the official visit, the chairman of the CCI Adham Ikramov greeted the head of the delegation, Sung-In Kim, the Executive Vice President of the Korean Fund and the Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Central Asia-Korea Cooperation Forum, as well as Dong-Geun Lee, President and CEO of Scientific Hyundai Research Institute, noting the mutually beneficial cooperation of the two parties.
In the second half of the visit, a meeting was held with young specialists (graduates of Korean universities) under the program “2019 Eurasia Youth Academy”, funded by the Korean Foundation and “Hyundai Learning Center”, the CCI of the Republic of Uzbekistan said.
The purpose of the visit is to familiarize with the investment climate and the conditions for doing business in Uzbekistan, the tourism potential, as well as existing opportunities for young people in the country.
During the visit, presentations were made by the CCI on investment prospects in Uzbekistan, as well as on mutually beneficial relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to create a platform for cooperation for the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea and organize the visit of the delegation of the Korean Maritime Institute to Uzbekistan.
The next day, on 16 August, the Korean delegation visited PayMe and the Crafers chocolate factory with an orientation tour.
