Uzbekistan to improve internet speed in tourist areas
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Digital technologies have enabled us to travel around the world more freely and boldly than ever before. Tourists can communicate, move, pay or find something more interesting with the click of a button ... of course, if there is an Internet connection. Therefore, it is not surprising that access to the Internet changes the traveler’s impression for better or for worse.
In this regard, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Measures for the Further Development of the Tourism Sphere in the Republic of Uzbekistan” envisages making requirements for ensuring hotels access to the Internet without fail, including via the Wi-Fi wireless network, at a speed not less than 4 mbps.
And also, the territory of airports, railway and bus stations will be provided with Internet access points via the Wi-Fi wireless network at a speed of at least 4 mbps.
This step is the first of the stages of creating a tourist "smart city", where high-tech will improve public infrastructure and services, as well as stimulate the local economy.
