Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A delegation of the People’s Republic of China headed by Deputy Head of the Beijing Public Security Directorate Liu Tao is on an official visit to Tashkent.
In the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent, negotiations were held between the deputy chief of the Beijing State Security Administration Liu Tao and the deputy minister of internal affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan - the chief of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the capital, Major General R. Juraev.
During the negotiations, the parties expressed satisfaction with the established cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the two friendly states and expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation in exchanging experience, countering transnational threats and in the fight against crime.
It was noted that in recent years, cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of China and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan has become a model of successful interaction. In recent years alone, over 50 visits to China have been organized, in which members of the internal affairs bodies of Uzbekistan, including the Tashkent city police body, took part. In addition, more than ten visits to Uzbekistan by representatives of the Chinese Ministry of Interior Affairs took place, during which Chinese colleagues got acquainted with the activities of the internal affairs bodies of our republic.
The head of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Tashkent stressed that the development of cooperation with China at various levels gives a huge incentive to hold a similar format of the event at the level of the metropolitan departments.
“We are interested in building up contacts, creating a legal mechanism for the exchange of information and conducting joint activities in the framework of the fight against the“ three forces of evil, ”R. Juraev said in particular.
The meeting participants discussed such relevant areas of cooperation as: the fight against terrorism and transnational crimes, including cybercrime, as well as ensuring the safety of foreign citizens.
Based on the results of the agreements reached, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding, envisaging the main forms and directions of interaction between law enforcement agencies of the capitals of the two states in countering modern challenges and threats in the near future.
The parties called the signing of the document as a historic event, which opens a new page in the common cause of combating crime and ensuring the safety of citizens.
On the same day, the guests were introduced to the work of the duty department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Tashkent and the 7th Department of the Interior of Yunusabad district in Tashkent.
