The National Commission to deal with issues of combating trafficking in persons and forced labor

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On additional measures to further improve the system of combating human trafficking and forced labor”.
In accordance with the Decree, the Republican Interdepartmental Commission on Combating Trafficking in Persons was reorganized into the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Persons and Forced Labor and its composition was approved.
The National Commission consists of the Subcommittee on Countering Trafficking in Persons and the Subcommittee on Countering Forced Labor.
The subcommittees are headed by the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, respectively, who are vice-chairmen of the National Commission.
The main task of the National Commission is to coordinate the activities of state and territorial bodies, self-government bodies of citizens and NGOs in the field of combating human trafficking and forced labor in order to ensure the effectiveness of their activities, close interaction and coherence
The chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the khokims of the regions, the city of Tashkent, the districts (cities) lead the territorial commissions on combating human trafficking and forced labor.
The decree established the institution of the National Rapporteur on combating human trafficking and forced labor.
The national rapporteur reports annually to the President information on the situation in the field of combating trafficking in persons and forced labor.
