KOICA holds an orientation for participants of Masters Fellowship programs in Korea

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Each year, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), a government agency responsible for grant aid of the Republic of Korea to support sustainable socio-economic development in developing countries, conducts recruitment of participants among Uzbekistan government officials, for participating in KOICA’s Masters degree programs in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Korea.
On 26 July 2019, KOICA Uzbekistan Office held an orientation for participants of KOICA Masters degree programs for 2019 for Uzbekistan government officials from various ministries and institutions such as the Ministry of Economy and Industry, Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, Ministry of Finance, The Ministry of Public Education, The Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the State Customs Committee, Ministry of Water Resources and others.
The event was organized with the goal to assist in continuous strengthening of trainees’ capacity and improving performance of KOICA training courses.
Starting from August 2019, these government officials will be dispatched to Korea for training in Masters degree programs at prestigious universities such as the Seoul National University, KDI, Korea University, Yonsei University, Korean Development Institute, Chung-Ang University, Kyung Hee University, Sungkyunkwan University and others.
During the meeting, the graduates of KOICA Masters Fellowship Programs shared with the new recruits the gained experience, the results of the programs and discussed the future directions, which will for sure serve for the purpose of improving the future training programs.
In his congratulatory speech, Director of KOICA Uzbekistan Office Son Sung Il expressed his high regard for the outcomes of the KOICA’s Fellowship Program and requested the trainees of KOICA programs to provide continuous support in promoting amicable relations between Korea and Uzbekistan, while emphasizing the significance of human resource development in facilitating national development. “The participants of KOICA Fellowship programs are well familiar with the customs, traditions and achievements of Korea, I am confident, they will play an important role in strengthening the relationships between our countries” – stated Director of KOICA Office.
