Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China and Mongolia Bakhtiyor Saidov was simultaneously appointed as the country’s ambassador to the Philippines with residence in Beijing.

On 24 July, Saidov presented his credentials to the President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Dunyo news agency reported.

The head of the Philippines noted an active development trend in bilateral relations between the Philippines and Uzbekistan, including within the framework of the UN.

He stressed the existence between the two countries of “a multitude of common interests in various areas of cooperation”.

Such areas as political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, the fight against extremism, terrorism and drug trafficking are highlighted, the report says.

Bakhtiyor Saidov is the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China (since July 2017) and in Mongolia (since April 2018).
