Schoolchildren from Uzbekistan win the Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Singapore hosted the Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge 2019, which was attended by over a thousand schoolchildren from about 20 countries, including Bulgaria, Vietnam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, China, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, USA, Thailand, Uzbekistan and the Philippines.
Uzbekistan was represented at the Olympiad by 24 pupils of elementary and middle classes of schools No. 50, 159, 71, “Leader” and “Genesis” of the city of Tashkent.
Qualifying rounds were organized in groups, and students from different countries passed this stage of the Olympiad by solving puzzles and mathematical problems. After the preliminary selection, the most distinguished students took part in the final round, after which the winners were determined.
According to the results of the competitions, the representatives of Uzbekistan were awarded one gold (S. Hodjabaeva), five silver ones (N. Akhmadhodjaev, A. Aripov, R. Halperin, B. Zakirov, A. Egamberdyev) and six bronze medals (S. Rakhmatullaeva, A. Aripov , N.Kan, Sh.Husnulin, V.Galperin, M.Rahmonberdyev).
The ceremony of awarding the winners was attended by leaders and representatives of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and other countries.
