Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Minister of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Abdurahmonov received a delegation of the Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe (UNICA) under the leadership of Secretary General Chris Dejonker.
The meeting was also attended by Professor of the University of Zagreb, Melita Kovacevic and UNICA Project Manager Aureli Duchato, as well as High-ranking Advisor to the Minister of Innovation Development Carsten Heinz, heads of departments and other authorized persons of the Ministry.
During the meeting, the results of the international project “UZDOC 2.0: Improving the quality of doctoral education in higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan”, which is carried out within the framework of the Erasmus Plus program, were discussed.
It is worth noting that UNICA has been cooperating in the field of higher education since 2012. In 2016, the second EU project was adopted: UZDOC 2.0, which will be completed in October 2019, and the final event will be held at Karakalpak State University.
The Minister of Innovation Development, in turn, noted that a number of works are being carried out in the field of science promotion through the introduction of modern, interactive and creative teaching methods. The Ministry promotes innovations in the education system, including through the introduction of modern and interactive teaching methods, distance education in the regions, and ensures the development of innovative curricula involving the wide use of digital technologies.
- A special software was created, on the basis of which an automated system for monitoring the delivery of documents to the doctoral program will be established, an electronic system of registration, monitoring the implementation of doctoral students' personal plans will be implemented. This software, developed jointly with specialists from the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, makes it possible to improve the admission mechanism for postgraduate education, ensure transparency, eliminate waste paper, translate the process of forming quotas into electronic form, said I.Abdurahmonov.
Chris Dejonker stressed that after the completion of the project UZDOC 2.0, the results of the joint project will be analyzed, after which cooperation is possible in further projects in the field of doctoral studies in Uzbekistan.
