Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 July 2019, an agreement on the implementation of a joint project between the Ministry of Pre-School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company was signed in Nukus.
The document envisages the construction of three new pre-school educational organizations in Bukhara, Kashkadarya and Tashkent regions.
The signing ceremony of the agreement took place in the first specialized kindergarten with the rehabilitation center "Imkon" for children with disabilities. New pre-school organizations will be built in Bukhara (for 250 places), Karshi (for 150 places) and Tashkent region (for 150 places).
“Enrollment of children by preschool education is one of the most acute issues in the system of preschool education. The Preschool Education Ministry is actively working to improve the situation: new kindergartens are being built, the capacities of the existing ones are being repaired and increased, the buildings alienated in the past years are returning to the preschool education system. We are glad that business today wants to help children. Thanks to LUKOIL, another 550 children in the regions will have access to quality pre-school education. The Bukhara kindergarten will become a general organization, and the other two will be multi-specialized specialized organizations with rehabilitation centers. In addition to the pupils, these rehabilitation centers will annually accept 5-7 thousand children in need of rehabilitation procedures,” the Minister of Pre-School Education Agrippina Shin said.
The prototype for projects in Karshi and Tashkent region will be the Nukus kindergarten with the Imkon rehabilitation center. The project combines pre-school educational and medical institutions for children with physical and mental developmental features. The new centers will have modern gymnastics and physiotherapy rooms, massage rooms, a sensory room, a room for developing fine motor skills, social adaptation, music and art therapy, as well as doctors' offices.
“During the opening of the first in Uzbekistan pre-school educational institution with the rehabilitation center “Imkon”, we promised that similar pre-school organizations will appear in other regions of the country. Today, the Preschool Education Ministry has signed an agreement with LUKOIL, which will provide early assistance and include children with special needs in Kashkadarya and Tashkent regions in the socio-cultural environment. The opportunity not to sit at home, but to communicate, learn about the world, develop and adapt - this is the first step towards a fulfilling life in which the limitation of health does not become a limitation of the child’s capabilities. Only three months have passed since the opening of the Imkon in Nukus, but we are already seeing results. The children got stronger, revived, many of them have positive dynamics,” project manager Shakhnoza Mirziyoyev said.
The initiative to build pre-school educational organizations in Uzbekistan was proposed by the President of LUKOIL, Vagit Alekperov, during a meeting with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in May 2019.
“LUKOIL in Uzbekistan conducts active charitable activities aimed at supporting education, health, sports and culture. The total amount that our company has sent to charity in Uzbekistan to date has amounted to more than US$13 million. We plan to allocate US$12 million for the construction of three new preschool organizations. The kindergarten in Bukhara will be built according to a project specially developed by LUKOIL. The first such pre-school organization was built by a company in Russia, in Astrakhan,” Stepan Gurzhiy, Director General of LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company LLC, said.
The three-storey building and the territory of the OED in Bukhara with a total area of more than 11 thousand square meters. m. will be equipped with the latest technology and equipment, swimming pool, dance and sports halls, a computer class, as well as group rooms. For active games and sports in the area there are bike paths and playgrounds with grass and safe synthetic surface.
