Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The largest Russian publishing house, Eksmo, presents the book of the writer from Uzbekistan “Sword d’Artagnan, or A Year Later”.
Exmo Publishers has released the sequel to the legendary “Musketeers” saga by Alexander Dumas, written by the author from Uzbekistan Oraz Abdurazakov. The historical novel "The Sword of D’Artagnan, or A Year Later" is the author’s version of the final trilogy and is based on the historical chronicles of the archives and museums of France.
The action of the new novel by Oraz Abdurazakov unfolds shortly after the death of D’Artagnan. A year later, the plot takes an unexpected turn: the loyal companion becomes the last will of the brave Gascon - the only survivor of the four Aramis friends. However, the plot would be too predictable, having stopped only on the testament of the captain of the musketeers ...
The author recreates the historical events of the last third of the XVII century, unfolding impressive battles, where honor and betrayal, secrets and intrigues of the royal court, love and war, and, most importantly, the ominous secret of the French crown, will clash.
Talking about the book, Oraz Abdurazakov notes:
- I edited the book while in Paris, London, and then in Brussels, and this seriously affected not only the authenticity of the text, but also the plot of the novel. Fortunately, I was able to personally familiarize myself with documents from Versailles and the Louvre, talk with the museum curators, and also see with my own eyes the places where the fateful events for the Bourbon dynasty took place. Anticipating questions, I will say that writing the end of the trilogy - my own version of the final - was motivated primarily by the fact that none of the previously read options suited me personally. Whether it was successful or not, readers decide.
The commitment to the style and subject lines of Dumas is my tribute to the memory of the great author of the beloved since childhood childhood trilogy. The trilogy, which, without challenging its undoubted artistic merit, is also the most successful PR project of French culture and history.
The book will soon be available in bookstores of the Chitai-Gorod network. A limited edition of The Sword of D’Artagnan, or A Year Later, available in Uzbekistan’s key bookstores, will be available in Uzbekistan.
