Chairman of the International Committee for Economic Cooperation of Germany visits Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 15 to 19 June, representatives of the German Parliament headed by Mr. Ramsauer, Chairman of the International Committee for Economic Cooperation, visited Uzbekistan.
During the visit, the German delegation visited a number of state institutions and organizations, as well as companies, such as: MAN Auto Uzbekistan in Samarkand, a multi-purpose children’s reproductive health hospital (“Protecting Mother and Child”), which is a GIZ project in Uzbekistan.
Meetings were also held in the Parliament of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in the Women’s committee and with the OSCE delegation in Uzbekistan. During the visit, German parliamentarians got acquainted with the activities of the Center for Pediatric Radiology (the GIZ and KfW project in Uzbekistan) at the Tashkent Pediatric Institute.
The delegation’s meeting with the rector of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization, U.P. Umurzakov, was successful, during which Dr. Karolina Milov, Head of the GIZ Transboundary Water Management in Central Asia program, spoke about the goals and objectives of the program.
In addition, the Bundestag delegation had the opportunity to meet with journalists and bloggers in Uzbekistan, who could share their opinions on new trends in the media sphere in Uzbekistan.
