From June 2019, children to be accepted in secondary schools through the Public Service Centers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the Center for Development Strategy, the State Services Agency organized a briefing on innovations in the order determining the admission of children to public schools and the submission of documents for admission to higher educational institutions.
The event was attended by senior officials of the State Services Agency, the Ministries of National and Higher Education, the State Testing Center, as well as media representatives.
It was noted that the admission of children to secondary schools for the 2019/2020 academic year will be carried out gradually, starting in June 2019 through the Public Service Centers or the Unified interactive portal of public services of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In accordance with the Administrative Regulations approved by the Decree, the requirements of the Regulations apply to the following educational institutions:
- Primary School;
- middle School of General education;
- some specialized schools with in-depth study of certain subjects (except for specialized schools of art and culture, specialized boarding schools of the Olympic reserve).
Quota reception is divided into primary and secondary.
The main quota is formed taking into account:
- children of citizens living in microterritories assigned by khokimiyats of districts (cities) to educational institutions;
- children whose parents are persons with I-degree disabilities;
- orphans or children left without parental care.
The additional quota is formed on the basis of the capabilities of the general education institution from:
- children of school age living outside the microterritory of the educational institution;
- children under school age (who will be 6 years old until September 1 of the relevant year) living in the microterritory of the educational institution and outside it;
- children who do not have basic knowledge (level of communication) of the language of instruction of the educational institution.
Admission of children to general education institutions according to the basic quota is carried out every year from 15 June to 31 July.
A special online platform will be developed for admission to general education institutions, integrated with the Single Interactive Government Services Portal. It will contain the names of multi-storey buildings and streets included in the school district, the number of school-age children, the admission plan to 1 class, the number of adopted children and free places.
In public schools, applicants will be treated with a ready direction document.
Within three working days (inclusive) from the moment of receiving the direction to the educational institution it is necessary to hand over the originals of the following documents:
- certificate of child’s health;
- 4 color photos of the child size 3,5x4,5 cm;
- copies of parents’ passports;
- A copy of the birth certificate of the child.
It was reported that applicants can submit documents to higher educational institutions, defined by the responsible commission, through the Centers for Public Services or the Single Portal of Interactive Government Services.
Documents to universities that are not included in this list are submitted in accordance with the Regulation approved by the relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers.
For applicants who graduated from school in the years preceding the test (except for persons with disabilities or are on full state support), a fee of 50 percent of the minimum wage is charged.
Public service centers accept documents regardless of the place of permanent (temporary) registration of applicants.
Documents are accepted annually from 15 June to 15 July, regardless of the place of permanent residence of applicants.
Public Services Centers employee is provided with the originals of the following documents:
- passport;
- birth certificate for persons under the age of passport;
- A certificate of graduation from school, college or lyceum (with attachment);
- those who have benefits - a document confirming the benefits.
After entering the necessary data into the electronic system, the employee returns the documents to the applicant.
