Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan (MPE), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Digital Knowledge Co. Ltd (Japan) launched a joint survey on the implementation of an education management system.
On 31 May 2019, representatives of the MPE, JICA and Digital Knowledge Co. Ltd signed a protocol for this project. The project aims to introduce an education management system to improve the qualifications of school teachers and ensure a single quality of education in all regions of Uzbekistan, as well as to improve the quality of education in state and non-state schools.
The project worth US$1 million will be implemented in the form of a public-private partnership. JICA provided a grant for this project. Experts from Digital Knowledge Co. Ltd will take part in the implementation of the new project. In particular, the team will begin to implement education management systems in 14 pilot schools throughout Uzbekistan (one school from each region). As part of the project, teachers will be trained on the use of the learning management system, and will also be familiarized with the Japanese methods of pedagogy. In turn, Japanese experts will study the work and teaching methods in pilot schools of Uzbekistan.
Following the results of teamwork, teachers will take distance learning courses and materials from leading educational companies, such as Ichishin Holdings Group, Meiko Network Japan, Gakusho, and others. It is expected that these programs and materials will be translated and adapted in accordance with the standards of Uzbekistan.
One of the important components of this project will be localization of the computer testing system. After localization, students will be tested, which will provide data on student performance. Also within the framework of the project, the Japanese company intends to hold a series of events with the participation of representatives of non-state educational organizations on the benefits of the education management system and the creation of electronic educational materials. Created study materials will be tested in public schools.
Deputy Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Sarvar Babakhodjaev noted that the Ministry of Public Education establishes cooperation with foreign organizations to study the best practices of developed countries in the field of education. This project is one of the results of this work. The project will be implemented within one year. As a result of this initiative, participants can work on a larger project to improve the education management system.
