Uzbekistan, Japan discuss cooperation in infrastructure, construction of smart cities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent hosts the third Uzbekistan – Japan practical conference “High-tech infrastructure of the city”.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan.
Participants of the conference are planning to discuss issues of further cooperation in disaster management and restoration of infrastructure, construction of smart cities, as well as in the field of tourism, electrical equipment manufacturing and others.
Representatives of Turkey are also among the participants of the conference. Their goal is to expand cooperation, particularly in construction.
In the first part of the conference, representatives of five large Japanese companies, as well as the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan presented their projects “Disaster management and infrastructure rehabilitation”, reflecting concrete actions on development of bilateral relations in this area.
In the conference, Japanese businessmen noted that the development of urban planning in Uzbekistan based on modern requirements, the construction and improvement of infrastructure contribute to economic progress. Proposals for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects in the field of infrastructure modernization, development of the automobile and railway systems, information and communication technologies, prevention of natural disasters and other areas were presented.
During the conference, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan.
