Prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas sector discussed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of work to attract foreign investment and advanced technologies to Uzbekistan, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Otabek Akbarov met with the Executive Vice President of ENI Spa on international relations Lapo Pistelli in Rome.
Founded in 1953, ENI Spa is represented in 71 countries of the world and has more than 33 thousand employees. The company operates on a full cycle, including research and development of formulas, production, transportation and processing of oil and gas, as well as the production of various oils.
Lapo Pistelli, who until 2015 worked as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, welcomed the intensification and expansion of Uzbek-Italian relations, especially in the economic sphere. He noted that the large-scale and dynamic reforms carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev are being observed and welcomed at ENI Spa with great interest. It was emphasized that the company is particularly interested in measures aimed at modernizing and increasing the efficiency of the oil and gas industry of the republic, which has a high raw material and technical potential.
The vice-president of ENI Spa said that there are good opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan on the whole spectrum of issues of geological exploration, production and processing of hydrocarbons by attracting advanced technologies and know-how.
He spoke in favor of holding in the near future an exchange of delegations between the company and representatives of the republic in order to define goals and strategies for interaction.
