Cooperation between universities of Uzbekistan and Israel discussed in Bukhara
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the visit to Uzbekistan (12-19 May 2019), representatives of the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT, Israel) headed by its President Edward Yakubov visited the Bukhara region.
The Israeli delegation held a number of meetings and negotiations at the regional and Bukhara khokimiyats, in Bukhara State University, Bukhara Engineering and Technology Institute, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports.
During the visit, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel, memorandums of cooperation were also signed in the field of joint training of specialists between HIT and Bukhara universities, a scientific and practical conference STEMM (science, technology, education, mathematics and medicine) was held, during which an exchange took place experience in the field of innovative developments in the educational process and in other areas.
The Israeli delegation took part in the launch of one of the latest innovative developments by Israeli scientists - the installation for obtaining drinking water from the air of the company “Watergen”. As announced, after testing, new equipment will be donated to the Bukhara Mercy House.
It was emphasized that in case of success of the project, the company intends to start production of this innovative equipment in the region with the subsequent implementation in the markets of Uzbekistan and neighboring countries.
The head of the delegation, Eduard Yakubov, announced the decision to allocate five students from the Bukhara region with scholarships with reimbursement for one year of study at HIT.
Representatives of the Bukhara region were invited to Israel to celebrate the 50th anniversary of HIT.
