MEDEF INTERNATIONAL delegation takes part in the business forum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 May, an Uzbek-French business forum was held at the International Business Center with the participation of heads of ministries and departments, business circles of the two countries.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the Movement of Entrepreneurs of France MEDEF International, with the assistance of the French Embassy in Uzbekistan.
The French delegation included 20 leading companies such as ADEO, Airbus, Alstom, LAZARD FRERES, Bouygues, BPIfrance, Catering International Services, EGIS, IDEMIA, SUEZ, Societe Generale, BRL Ingenierie and others. Christoph Fontaine, President of the Business Council France-Uzbekistan at MEDEF International, headed the mission of entrepreneurs.
Welcoming remarks at the opening of the forum were made by Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov, who stressed the importance of realizing the investment potential of the two countries to promote bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level meeting the requirements of the times and the interests of the national economies of Uzbekistan and France.
The French delegation was acquainted with the key reforms being carried out in the country to improve the business climate, including the privatization of land, the reform of the tax system, the reduction of administrative barriers and the introduction of an investment visa for foreign partners.
During the forum, it was noted that such promising sectors as agriculture, viticulture and winemaking, and light industry could become a breakthrough in business partnership. Special attention is paid to cooperation in the production of pharmaceuticals, the introduction of innovative software products, the development of infrastructure and chemical industries.
A number of existing opportunities for the implementation of projects in the fields of energy, tourism, production of building materials were presented in the framework of presentations by the heads of authorized departments.
