Issues of cooperation in the fight against corruption discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 13 May 2019, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov in Kuala Lumpur met with Malaysian Deputy Director for Anti-Corruption Ganason Periathambi.
The Academy provides training, retraining and advanced training for employees of the Anti-Corruption Commission of Malaysia. This school offers classes in law, forensics, investigating financial crimes, prosecuting, preventing and combating corruption and money laundering.
The Malaysian side was acquainted with large-scale reforms in the field of fighting corruption in Uzbekistan.
In turn, Ganason Periatambi confirmed receipt of an invitation to participate in the conference on the topic "Enhancing scientific and educational potential in the field of law enforcement: current trends and prospects", dedicated to the first anniversary of the founding of the Academy of the Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan, which will be held in Tashkent on 16-17 May.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the establishment of close cooperation between the Academy of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy in the field of personnel training and retraining.
The Malaysian side also expressed readiness to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between the academies of the two countries and to assist in attracting officers of the Uzbek Prosecutor’s Office to attend advanced training courses in Kuala Lumpur through the Malaysian technical cooperation program.
