Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6-9 May 2019, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov was in the United Arab Emirates. The delegation included 70 civil servants representing the areas of investment, transport, science, education, tourism, health care and services.
The visit was organized in order to develop a strategic partnership between the two countries through the intergovernmental program “Improving the efficiency of the public administration system”, which envisages 57 areas of cooperation.
During the meetings, mechanisms were discussed and developed to facilitate the implementation by the Government of Uzbekistan of measures to improve the quality of public services, the effectiveness of state institutions and the management system, training using the experience gained and the current UAE model.
“The United Arab Emirates, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy High Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, OAE Prime Minister, Prime Minister, OAE Minister; His Highnesses Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum have become a point of attraction on a global scale for many governments, ”said Muhammad Abdullah, Minister for Government and Future of the United Arab Emirates, at the opening of the seminar Al Gergavi. “The UAE government model has become an export product, and we are working closely with a group of friendly countries that have expressed their desire to learn from their experience and adapt the existing model of the Emirates to the national traditions.”
At the conclusion of the three-day breakout sessions, 16 working groups gathered for a final seminar to summarize the work done. At it, the leaders of each group made a presentation of the “road maps” describing concrete measures and the timing of their implementation in the short and long term.
Over the next three years, it was agreed that the working groups, with support from the UAE, will work to improve the efficiency of the public administration system, introduce information technologies, monitor the implementation of government decisions, introduce a government-owned subsidiary, create a competitive business environment and “smart police stations”, conduct training courses for young professionals in various sectors.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United Arab Emirates, during the three-day seminar, the parties confirmed their mutual desire to achieve high results. The work within the framework of the intergovernmental program will be continued throughout the year with the visit of the UAE government delegation to Uzbekistan scheduled for December of this year.
