A delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in the Conference on the Dialogue among Civilizations of Asia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 May 2019, the Uzbek delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov arrived in Beijing (China) to participate in the work of the Conference on the Dialogue among Asian Civilizations.
The event will be held from 14 to 15 May 2019 in the capital of China.
On the first day of the Conference, Chinese President Xi Jinping and a number of other high-ranking members of the Standing Committee of the Politburo, King of Cambodia N. Siamoni, Presidents of Singapore, Greece, Sri Lanka, and high-level leaders of governments and parliaments of Southeast Asia, South Asia and the EU took part in it..
From the CIS countries invited only Uzbekistan and Armenia. It should be noted that in the context of the interconnectedness of Asian civilizations, China regards Uzbekistan as one of the “cradles of ancient civilizations, having a long history and rich cultural heritage”.
The Chinese side noted that “it attaches special attention to the successful organization and holding of the Conference, initiated by the President of China Xi Jinping in order to preserve the cultural heritage of Asian countries and demonstrate the outstanding achievements of Asian and world civilizations.”
The House of People’s Assembly organized an official reception on behalf of the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, in honor of the heads of the delegations participating in the Conference.
During the reception, Chinese President Xi Jinping personally welcomed the head of the Uzbek delegation along with 5 other officials, heads of delegations of the participating countries at the level of heads of state and government. In turn, the Chinese side expressed gratitude on behalf of the leadership of the republic for the warm welcome and the opportunity to participate in this high-level event.
On the sidelines of the event, meetings and conversations were held with N. Siamoni, King of Cambodia, President of Singapore H. Jakub, UNESCO Head Audrey Azoulay, Armenian Prime Minister N. Pashinyan, State Councilor, Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi, Politburo member of the CPC Central Committee, Chairman Organizing Committee for the Conference H. Kunmin, former Prime Minister of Japan and Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Y. Fukuda, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Mongolia Enh-Amgalan Luvsantseren.
On the second day of events, on 15 May, the Uzbek delegation will take part in the panel sessions of the Conference, as well as the opening ceremony of the exhibition of Asian culture and the Week of Asian Civilizations.
