Implementation of projects financed due to World Bank funds reviewed
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (Uzdaily.com) -- On 3 May 2019, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan conducted a detailed review of the status of implementation of projects financed by borrowed funds of the World Bank.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the World Bank, as well as heads of executive departments and project implementation teams.
The head of the World Bank office in Uzbekistan, Mr. Hideki Mori, noted the positive dynamics of the project portfolio in Uzbekistan, largely due to the ongoing economic reforms in the country and the transformation of the investment climate.
During the meeting, loan negotiations were held on projects aimed at improving pre-school education, building institutional capacity and providing budget support.
The participants also discussed options for improving the utilization of funds raised on projects already implemented with the participation of the bank.
