Issues of construction and reconstruction of a number of objects considered in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 April, a working group of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade with the involvement of the chief architect of the Institute for Planning and Development of the Region Ile-de-France Eric Høbrebts, a key expert body closely cooperating with the United Nations education, science and culture (UNESCO) in the protection of cultural heritage sites, traveled to Samarkand to study the construction and reconstruction of a number of facilities for the upcoming summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2022.
The purpose of the trip is to eliminate the existing problems associated with the construction progress, search for compromise solutions in terms of planning, landscape and design of the buildings being erected, their integration into the urban environment, for which European experts and investors currently lacked a unified position.
Special attention was paid to the project “Tourist zone of Samarkand city”, which includes a multifunctional conference hall, international hotels and a shopping center, implemented with the support of the Silk Road Fund: during the discussion, the optimal version of the master plan of the project, corresponding to the best international practices of urban planning was developed and providing for improvement of the existing infrastructure, as well as harmonious interposition of parts of the zone.
Following the trip, issues were worked out for each of the 13 objects and a direction was set for further work in order to carry out construction work and launch into operation in a timely manner.
