Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 April 2019, the resident population of the Republic of Uzbekistan made up over 33.37 million people and compared to the beginning of the year the figure rose by 120,300 people or 0.4%.
State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said that the urban population made up 16.86 million (50.5% of the total population), and the rural population — 16.51 million (49.5%).
According to preliminary data, as of 1 April 2019, 30.4% of the total resident population in the republic are under the working age, 59.5% are of working age and 10.1% are over working age.
In January-March 2019, 159,500 births were registered (hereinafter, live births are meant as births), respectively, the birth rate per 1000 population was 19.4 per thousand and, compared to the same period in 2018, increased 1.2 ppm (January-March 2018 - 18.2 ppm).
A total of 172,200 births were registered in the civil registry offices of the Agency of Public Services of the Ministry of Justice, of which 159,500 were live births, 1,600 were stillborn, 11,100 were registered in January 2019. but they were born in 2018 and registered according to international recommendations.
In January-March 2019, 37,100 deaths were recorded, respectively, the mortality rate was 4.5 ppm and, compared to the same period of 2018, decreased by 0.2 ppm (in January-March 2018 - 4.7 ppm).
A total of 41,700 deaths were registered in the civil registry offices of the State Services Agency of the Ministry of Justice, of which 37,100 died this year, 4,600 were registered in January 2019, but died in 2018, according to international recommendations, they taken into account in the 2018 totals.
Of the total number of registered deaths in January-March 2019, 63.8% died from circulatory system diseases, 9.0% from neoplasms, 5.2% from diseases of the digestive system, 5.1% from respiratory diseases, 4,3% from accidents, poisonings and injuries, 1.4% from infectious and parasitic diseases and 11.2% from other diseases.
The number of registered dead children under the age of 1 year was 1,600, of which 52.1% died from conditions arising in the perinatal period, 20.3% from respiratory diseases, 16.0% from congenital anomalies, 2.1% from infectious and parasitic diseases, 2.1% from accidents, poisonings and injuries, 0.7% from diseases of the digestive organs, 6.7% from other diseases.
In January-March 2019, the natural population growth made up 122,400 people and, compared to the same period of 2018, increased by 13,000 people (in January-March 2018 - by 109,400 people).
During the period from January to March 2019, the civil registry offices registered 53,700 marriages. In the republic, the marriage rate per 1000 population was 6.5 per thousand.
The growth of registered marriages, compared to the same period in 2018, was observed in Namangan region (by 19.4%), Tashkent (12.9%), Tashkent (12.8%), Jizzakh (11.8%), Andijan (9.1%) and Syrdarya (9.1%) regions.
During the period from January to March 2019, the civil registry offices registered 8,000 divorces. In the republic, the divorce rate per 1000 population was 1.0 per mille.
The growth of registered divorces, as compared to the same period of 2018, was observed in Bukhara (by 25.0%), Namangan (by 16.7%), Andijan (by 11.1%) regions.
Compared with the same period in 2018, a decrease was recorded in Kashkadarya (by 33.3%), Samarkand and Khorezm (by 11.1%) regions.
In January-March 2019, the number of arrivals was 41,500 people (internal – 40,700 people, external - 0.8 thousand people), and the number of retired people – 43,600 people (internal - 40,700 people, external – 2,900 people).
The migration balance reached minus 2,100 people and, compared to the same period of 2018, minus 2,500 people.
The high level of migration balance falls on Kashkadarya (minus 1,400 people), Samarkand (minus 1,300 people), Tashkent and Bukhara regions (minus 0.8 thousand people).
The positive balance of migration was noted in Tashkent (plus 5.8).
