Film of Ernst Lubich to be shown in Urgench, Nukus and Khiva
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan invites everyone to watch the silent film of Ernst Lubich, shot in 1919.
The premiere show of this film is accompanied by a musical composition, collected and rewritten for the Uzbek State Chamber Orchestra of Folk Instruments “Sogdiana” by Professor Firuz Abdurahimova, the conductor and artistic director of the orchestra.
This comedy, which lasts one hour, tells about the nephew of a wealthy baron who must get married in order to inherit the baron’s money. A nephew who does not want to marry for anything is decided because of the urgent need to marry a doll resembling a human being. But what to do if the doll of the famous master puppeteer suddenly broke down? A puppeteer’s daughter comes to the rescue, who kindly agrees for a short time to play the role of a doll.
