Cadet from Uzbekistan wins MMA championship belt
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The fourth ethno tournament “Batyr Bashy” in MMA mixed wrestling series of the Grand Prix series started in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, on 7 April.
At the prestigious MMA tournament in the weight category of 84 kg, the honor of Uzbekistan was defended by a 4-year cadet of the Armed Forces Academy Bekzod Nurmatov and another athlete Abdulaziz Utamurodov, the press service of the Ministry of Defense said.
In a fight against the Kyrgyz athlete Kadir Kurstan uulu Abdulaziz Utamuradov won by technical knockout. But Bekzod Nurmatov beat his opponent from Kazakhstan.
In the final bout, two fighters from Uzbekistan, Bekzod Nurmatov and Abdulaziz Utamuradov should face each other. But in the pre-final battle, Abdulaziz badly injured his leg and, therefore, Abdulaziz’s coaching team did not give permission to enter the ring to his athlete.
So, Bekzod Nurmatov won the championship belt.
