Uzbek delegation to visit Brussels

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A governmental delegation of Uzbekistan will pay a visit to Brussels on 1-3 April 2019. The delegation will include Deputy Prime Minister Tanzila Narboeva and Minister of Employment and Labor Relations Sherzod Kudbiyev, as well as leaders of the Uztekstilprom associations and Uzbekistan Ipagi, Federation of Trade Unions.
According to the Mission of Uzbekistan to the EU, the delegation of Uzbekistan, responsible for the eradication of forced labor, will take part in the city of Brussels in the discussion forum on “How Uzbekistan eradicates child and forced labor in picking cotton”.
The event is organized jointly with the International Labor Organization, the World Bank, the embassies of Uzbekistan, the United States and Switzerland. The forum will be attended by representatives of the European Commission, international non-governmental organizations, as well as labor and human rights NGOs, business and investment companies advocating the eradication of child and forced labor in the production of cotton.
The program of the visit includes meetings with representatives of the European Union, the Kingdom of Belgium, human rights organizations, the largest European associations of manufacturers, retailers and trade union organizations, as well as leading European brands.
The government delegation will also hold talks with the Secretary General of the International Trade Union Confederation, Sharan Barrow, representatives of the international NGO Human Rights Watch and other international institutions.
