Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum-2019, Krasnoyarsk mayor Sergey Yeryomin held a working meeting with a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation in Novosibirsk Yusup Kabuljanov. The Uzbek delegation is in Krasnoyarsk for the first time.
“I congratulate you and the residents on holding the World Universiade, it was held at the highest level. Of course, behind the success is a colossal, hard work, so you have something to be proud of. I wish Krasnoyarsk to continue to host as many global events as possible, it is worth it. Yesterday’s walk through the city left me with a very pleasant impression,” Mr. Kabuljanov, thanking for the warm welcome, said.
In turn, Mayor Sergey Yeryomin noted that about four thousand Uzbeks live in Krasnoyarsk: “Our city is multinational and tolerant, therefore we celebrate national holidays together. I thank the Uzbek athletes who represented their republic at our Universiade. Now we are starting the next international event - the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum, today we are launching a large agroterminal. I think this could be a good start to our relations in the field of trade. ”
During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of cooperation in various areas. This included the opening of a store with Uzbek goods in Krasnoyarsk, the receipt of higher education by students in Siberian Federal University, as well as the prospects for international training camps at the Universiade facilities. “Through sport and youth, we will further strengthen our relationship. Moreover, the Games gave Krasnoyarsk a unique heritage in the form of multifunctional complexes,” the mayor explained.
Kabuljanov noted that the proposals interested him. He also added that modern hotels were built for the development of tourism in Uzbekistan: “We seriously approached this issue, and literally in two years did a lot to turn our state with a unique ancient history into a tourist Mecca,” he added.
Currently, relations between Krasnoyarsk and Uzbekistan are established in the scientific, educational, cultural, and trade and economic spheres. The Krasnoyarsk Territory exports mainly wood and products from it, pharmaceutical products to Uzbekistan. The republic imports precious stones, textiles, and agricultural products to us.
