Uzbekistan and Israel hold the fifth round of political consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The fifth round of the Uzbek-Israeli political consultations was held on 19 February 2019, in which delegations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Minister Dilshod Akhatov and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel headed by Deputy Director General, Head of the Eurasian Department Alexander Ben-Zvi attended.
An exchange of views took place on the entire range of issues on the bilateral agenda, and interaction within international organizations, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
As stressed at the meeting, both sides attach importance to the regular Uzbek-Israeli dialogue in the political, economic, scientific, technical, tourist, educational, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, the fight against transnational threats, are interested in enhancing inter-parliamentary contacts, direct mutually beneficial relations between the business circles of the two countries.
The parties confirmed their interest in building up trade, economic, investment, and technological cooperation.
The Uzbek side informed the partners in detail about the ongoing large-scale reforms in our country, including the conditions created for attracting foreign investment and advanced technologies.
The parties discussed proposals for the schedule and agenda of joint activities in 2019, in particular, to hold the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
At the talks, the state and prospects of expanding the juridical base of Uzbek-Israeli relations were also substantively examined.
