Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 January, an event was held in Moscow, Russia, to honor the memory of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, Dunyo news agency reported.
Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation, together with students from our country studying at Russian universities, laid a wreath to the monument of an outstanding statesman in Moscow.
The participants of the event noted that the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov with his many-sided political activities and noble human qualities left an indelible mark on the centuries-old history of our Motherland.
Thanks to the attention of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, today the memory of Islam Karimov is perpetuated in the country. A republican charity public foundation named after Islam Karimov was formed.
Tashkent State Technical University, the Asaka Automobile Plant, the Ferghana City Palace of Arts, the Tashkent International Airport, the main streets in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the city of Tashkent and regional centers were named after Islam Karimov. Monuments to the First President of our country were erected in Tashkent, Samarkand and Karshi.
Islam Karimov, as a bright, prominent person and statesman, enjoyed great respect and authority not only in Uzbekistan, but also in the world. In particular, in the center of Moscow, a monument to the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is installed in the park, which is named after Islam Karimov.
