Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of Uzbekistan and the Uzbek-Swiss joint venture Swisslab, which creates a network of laboratories in the country, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on 14 January 2019.
The document was signed for the development of high-tech medical and diagnostic assistance in Uzbekistan through the creation in Tashkent and other regions of the country laboratory and diagnostic centers, which meet international standards, the press service of the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of the Republic of Uzbekistan said.
The memorandum signed in Tashkent by Rovshan Izamov, Chairperson of the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of Uzbekistan, and Natalia Dudkova, Director General of Swisslab JV, is designed for 5 years with the possibility of extension. The Swiss side at the first stage will make direct investments in the amount of 12 million US dollars.
Dudkova said that Swisslab will be the first innovative network of laboratories that performs the main types of analysis in the shortest possible time (from 2 hours) and operates in a “transparent”, open laboratory format, where the patient has the opportunity to directly observe the research from the moment of taking the biomaterial to obtain test results. Currently, the provision of these services has already begun in the capital.
“At the first stage, these services will be provided all over in Tashkent, where the laboratory will work and 15 points for taking biomaterials operating in the format of the treatment room. Further plans are to expand services throughout the country,” Dudkova said.
The Swisslab joint venture plans to support the National Chamber, which has a network of branches in the country’s regions. Thus, across the country, it will be possible to conduct analyzes at the level of international best practices and standards. However, thanks to the international quality system of laboratory research, these results are recognized worldwide.
“Laboratories of this level belong to the so-called “reference laboratories ”, activities of which comply with all international standards. This is a very clear quality control, special reagent and much more, that is, an appropriate level of quality at each stage. The creation of such a laboratory itself is a rather complicated process, where everything is important - from arranging the premises, choosing the right equipment to using the necessary reagents according to the appropriate methods. Thus, international standards are introduced into the work of the health system of Uzbekistan, which is one of the main tasks of the National Chamber,” Izamov said.
The National Chamber of Innovative Health, as a party to the contract, acts as a guarantor in providing the Swiss side with tax benefits and other preferences, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and will take all necessary measures for the speedy implementation and further development of this project.
