Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia hold political consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia held the third round of political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, consultations were held in Riyadh on 3 December 2018.
The delegations of two countries headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov and the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia Nizar Madani held a keen exchange of views on the prospects for development of bilateral relations in the political, trade-economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, as well as mutual support on international and regional issues.
The sides spoke in favor of intensifying Uzbek-Saudi contacts at all levels, holding regular meetings of joint institutes of cooperation.
The Saudi side was thoroughly informed about the ongoing large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan in all spheres of life, which open up new opportunities for the further development of cooperation between the two countries.
Special attention was paid to the interaction of the parties within the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international structures.
During their stay in Saudi Arabia, the Uzbek delegation of Uzbekistan held meetings and negotiations with the chairman of the Saudi Investment Agency Ibrahim al-Umar and the adviser of the Saudi Fund for Development Yusuf al-Bassam, at which promising areas of cooperation in the trade, economic and investment fields were discussed.
