17 people hospitalized with food poisoning in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A group food poisoning was registered in the city of Samarkand, Samarkand region, on 22 October, the press service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan said.
From 13:00 of 22October to 17:45 on 23 October, 17 citizens turned to the regional infectious diseases hospital with symptoms such as nausea, headaches, abdominal pain, fever and weakness. After a medical examination, they were diagnosed with food poisoning. Among the patients, there are 11 men, 3 women and 3 children up to 14 years.
The patients are receiving medical care and necessary medicaments are provided. For laboratory analysis, biological samples were taken from patients, the Ministry of Health said.
As a result of the initial epidemiological investigation, it was revealed that on 21-22 October, the patients ate hot dogs, sold by citizen Gulom Murodov in a booth in the form of a kiosk near the Tabyat Sahovat dekhkan market.
Gulom Murodov conducted his activities illegally, without registering in the prescribed manner, without undergoing a medical examination. The booth does not meet sanitary and hygienic requirements at all, it is not provided with drinking water, there are no sanitary conditions for storing and selling products.
An administrative case was initiated by the regional sanitary and epidemiological service in relation to citizen Murodov, he was fined and his activities were suspended. Samples were taken from the products for laboratory analysis, the rest of the products were removed and destroyed in the prescribed manner.
