Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin will make a state visit to Uzbekistan next week.
In the Alexander Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace, Vladimir Putin received credentials from ambassadors of several foreign countries. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia, Botirjon Asadov, presented his credentials to the President of Russia.
During the meeting, the head of the Russian Federation noted that Uzbekistan is a strategic partner and ally of Russia. Bilateral ties are deepening in all key areas: political, economic, military-technical, cultural and humanitarian, Putin said.
“I hope that during the upcoming state visit to Tashkent next week, we will have extensive negotiations with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and a substantial package of joint intergovernmental and commercial documents will be signed on their results,” he added.
Putin stated that he and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the inauguration and meeting of the Interregional Cooperation Forum. “We will launch construction of the first Uzbek nuclear power plant by Rosatom,” President Vladimir Putin said.
