Botirjon Asadov heads diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in Russia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan appointed a new ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the country to Russia.
Botirjon Asadov became the head of the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in Russia.
State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Grigory Karasin received copies of credentials from the new ambassador of Uzbekistan on 8 October.
Karasin congratulated Asadov on assuming the office of the head of the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in Moscow, and wished him success in his work in the interest of developing a multifaceted strategic partnership and alliance between two countries.
Diplomats of two nations exchanged views on the most topical issues on the current agenda of Russian-Uzbek bilateral relations.
The parties also discussed preparations for the state visit of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan. They also considered draft documents of bilateral cooperation, which will be signed during the upcoming Russian-Uzbek summit.
Prior to this appointment, Botirjon Asadov served as First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. At the post of Ambassador he replaced Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov, who was appointed as of acting chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz.
