Two employees of Uzbekistan National University detained for taking bribe

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the National University of Uzbekistan and his deputy were detained during taking a bribe at the size of US$2,000, the press service of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
The ministry said that the citizen filed a complaint to the Department for Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes of the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs against employees of the National University of Uzbekistan.
He alleged that the university staff demanded US$2,000 for assistance in enrolling to the graduate course of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
During the operational activities of the department’s staff, Deputy Dean of the Faculty Yu.Z. was detained while receiving US$2,000. Dean A.K. was also detained, who was in collusion with his deputy.
On this fact, a criminal case was opened. Investigative work is under way.
