Nobel laureate Ryōji Noyori to pay visit to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Nobel laureate, Japanese scientist-chemist Ryōji Noyori will visit Uzbekistan from 28 to 31 August 2018, Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov said.
According to Aziz Abdukhakimov, during the visit, Noyori will give a lecture at the Tashkent State Technical University and visit Samarkand.
Ryōji Noyori will visit Uzbekistan as part of the delegation of the Nagoya University (Japan), led by President of Nagoya University Seiichi Matsuo.
The delegation of Japan will participate in the work of the Uzbek-Japanese scientific symposium and "round table" with the participation of representatives of leading universities, the Academy of Sciences, research institutes, interested organizations, as well as the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Nagoya University and Tashkent State Technical University.
Ryōji Noyori will hold meetings with Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov, Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education Inomjon Majidov, Minister of Innovative Development Ibrokhim Abdurakhmanov and President of the Academy of Sciences Shavkat Salikhov.
Professor of the Nagoya University, the well-known chemist Ryōji Noyori received the Nobel Prize in 2001 for developments in the field of catalytic asymmetric synthesis.
