Qoqand and Pocheon established sister-cities ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Qoqand (Ferghana region of Uzbekistan) and Pocheon (Gyeonggi province of the Republic of Korea) have established sister-cities relations.
Khokim of Ferghana region Shukhrat Ganiev and the mayor of the city of Pocheon Seo Jang-Won signed a memorandum on the establishment of sister cities. The document was signed in the Republic of Korea.
The document will serve to development of the economy, investment and tourism between Uzbekistan and South Korea.
During the visit to South Korea, the delegation of Uzbekistan signed agreements, memoranda and agreements with major South Korean companies.
In particular, Korea Heating Corporation will participate in the reconstruction of the heating system in Ferghana region.
UKO Global Light will take part in implementation of the project to generate electricity based on processed waste in Ferghana.
Taeho Machinery and Bakhodir Logon Textiles will realize a project to organize the production of knitwear and the export of finished products to South Korea.
It is expected that the Chung Construction Design Group will design and build a four-star hotel and multi-storey houses in Ferghana.
The South Korean company Sang Myong will build a health tourism center and a medical clinic in Uchkuprik district.
Doori Enginering and Bakhodir Agrosanoat intend to create a 50 hectare hydroponic greenhouse.
Crechiko will take part in the project to create a large poultry complex in Ferghana, which will produce up to 10,000 tonnes of chicken meat a year.
