Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Owners of automobiles in Uzbekistan should wait for tinting of passenger cars’ windows.
On 18 July 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan signed the Resolution “On measures to streamline the operation of vehicles with tinted (darkened) glass ", where it is said that the government approved the proposal of the ministries of interior and finance to permit the use of light vehicles with tinted on a paid basis from 1 August.
Tashkent police department said that in clause 4 of the resolution, it was stated that the state standard for the tinting of passenger car windows should be developed and approved. To this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Agency "Uzstandard" are given a month period.
It is necessary to develop and approve the procedure for issuing, registering and terminating the permission to install a tint, as well as to submit to the Cabinet of Ministers proposals (draft Law) on strengthening the responsibility of those individuals and legal entities who will ride with tinted windows without permission.
In addition, the one-month period is set aside in order to develop and approve the procedure for collecting a mandatory fee for temporary entry and transit through the territory of Uzbekistan of motor vehicles with tinted windows of foreign countries.
“That is, until the mechanism regulating the entire process is developed - from obtaining a permit for tinting to applying measures of responsibility for violating regulations governing the operation of cars with tinted windows - tinting the windows of cars will be considered illegal. Of course, in addition to the cases specified in the document, when tinting is a strip on the upper part of the windshield with a width not exceeding 14 cm and within the transmission limits of not less than 30 percent, "the Tashkent city police said.
In connection with this, administrative measures will be applied to drivers of cars with darkened glasses in accordance with Article 126 ("Operation of vehicles with mirror and non-standard tinted (darkened) glasses, as well as with coverings that limit visibility") of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on administrative responsibility, the Tashkent city police emphasized.
For the first half of 2018, traffic rule police inspectors recorded 1,078 facts of violations of this article of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on administrative responsibility.
